Elder Blotter Photos - June 25

Not sure what Elder Blotter and his comp are doing in some of these photos.  Something about going native.  I guess they were feeling silly that day.  He said the dog almost bit him

HEY Family!!
I am so jealous of all of you for being at Saywards wedding! I got her invitation on this past Friday and it made me happy and sad at the same time.   But all is good, we´ve had a good week of work in the mission. Actually from your story about the missionaries in Mexico that didn´t teach during the World Cup, it is a different story for me in Chile. We actually taught a guy during the game time of Chile versus Spain and it was actually a great lesson!  We challenged the guy to be baptised and he accepted! But he said he was going to go talk to his son about being baptized in our church and he´s evangelico which is a problem...because people don´t really like us from that church but were praying for him. We did not have a very successful Sunday, only one guy came with us to church and he doesn´t have a baptism date but we're gonna put him with one cause he really felt the spirit, so our goal for next week is to have everyone that has a baptismal date at church next week. Me and my companion just gotta work hard and pray everyday for them. This P-day we ate a little bit of home or McDonald's!  I ate a quarter pounder. Wasn´t as amazing as the ones at home but it was still worth it because it was a deal. The meals here for McDonald's in total are way way expensive! But we don´t eat there a lot. We make a lot of our own food which is good. I am really loving the mission I can´t imagine myself anywhere else right now. I love the work and I love everything right now! I miss you all and love you all very much! Give my best to Sayward and Matt!!   Buenas Suerta Familia este Semana!!  Te quiero a todos!! Oh yea!! the Chile vs. Brazil game is like right now or very soon so root for Chile to win so we can get in a lot of doors later tonight!! ha ha! Tengan una buena semana!!   Here are some photos also!! Photos of last week's p-day a little bit with Elder Day, we went native Maupuche!!  My last intercambio with one of my zone leaders elder Campozano, who I´ve learned so much from.   Me and my trainer Elder Simons at Zone conference and the last pictures of a HUGE dog that almost bit my hand off!! I can´t help it family I love dogs ha ha!!

Elder Blotter - July 20

Short note from the missionary this week.  He sounds busy and happy.  Also sounds like Chile has Soccer Fever!  In case you hadn't heard, Chile moved to the next round of world cup,so more craziness to come.  No new pictures this week, sorry!

Hola Familia!!

Well if you haven´t heard the news yet but CHILE BEAT SWITZERLAND!!!

The people are going crazy here! The streets here were like dead, no people were in them during the game and then right after people went nuts! Its crazy to see that soccer here is like a religion.  During the game when we came into centro to get out money for the half way point in the month for the mission, it was just dead. We heard the whole game when we went to get food and people were going crazy when it ended and they won!

Glad to hear y'all are heading out for Sayward's wedding.  I will keep them in my prayers and can´t wait to see the pictures of the wedding and everything!!  I got my my second package, thank you family I loved it!!

My Spanish is coming along well, just still working hard at it. My week here has been a really rainy one (its been rainy alllll weeeekkk!) and a very unsuccessful one with the work because nobody wanted to let us into there house because we are wet, but its all good, doesn´t put down my spirits! But we´ve also taught a lot which is good, especially with the restoration video. I love that video because it really brings the spirit to the investigators really strong. It testifies amazing too!! That's really been my week.

I´m still in the same sector so this is my 3rd transfer here, probably out next cambio but we'll see??  Same companion also, Elder Welling from Oregon.  I´m sure by the end of this cambio I´m out to a new area but I´m not sure yet so will see when this cambio is over when I´ve past the 6 month mark by a half month, so yeah, almost to the quarter mark!! So we're working hard to have a baptism this cambio.  We have a lot of people ready!! I´m stoked!! I love you and miss you a ton!

Elder Blotter Photos - June 12th

Elder Blotter's photos this week included the obligatory missionary tracting of some strange building in town.  I think every missionary has a photo like this.  He also included some water front pics from Valdiva including a submarine, his favorite sea lion ( has been in previous photos) and some left over earthquake damage from the big quake back in March.

Elder Blotter - June 14th

Hola Familia!!
This week we had one out of 6 come to church today which wasn´t the coolest buuuttt it was amazing!! Our investigator that came to church had never come before. One of the Sisters in our ward gave a really powerful talk on the Holy Ghost and the spirit was so strong in that chapel!! Our investigator started crying and everything!! But the really scary part and everything was half way through the talk, our investigator got down on her knees and started praying!! She´s Evangelical so that's what like they do in their church.  Me and my companion didn´t know what to do!! We just looked at each other for a second and just sat there until she got up off her knees and sat back in the pew. But what was really good was that after Sacrament a lot of our members came up to her and met her and welcomed her, which was way awesome!! Were going to put her with a baptismal date today and she´s getting to the water, heck yea!! I think if all of my investigators here did that I bet they´d feel the same so yea, ha ha. Glad to hear your  box garden is doing well sounds like a blast with everything hope everything comes out good and ripe. Glad to hear YC will be good this year for y'all. Hope I'll be able to help when I go home that´ll be fun and share my experiences because I love the mission.  Its really helped me understand people and what people really need and how much the gospel can really help people.
The birthday cake was really really rich and delicious.. And no that was their house ha ha! Again It has been raining here all week! It stinks that it has been but I guess that's just life for now. Transfers are tomorrow and it should be really interesting on who goes where and if I'll be moving areas this time. Don´t know for sure but we will see. My Spanish is good and  I understand people and talk pretty well also. The Latin missionaries and also people I talk to some of them say I talk very well for a short amount of time I have been here and I don´t really have a gringo accent which is awesome! Ha ha! The only thing the Latin missionaries I´ve talked to said that I just need to work on my constructing of some sentences. My Mission President is talking about the accent in Spain which is a lisp.  When people from here talk they have a lisp in their Spanish. I didn´t get a flu shot because I had already received mine in the MTC and I asked president about if I needed one and he said no so yea I am OK. I think I have a growing cold sore on my lip and I am sure it´s going to be really distracting to the people here when I contact them because its bruised over so its black so yeah. I love you and miss you tons!!

Elder Blotter Photos - June 6th

Some Church members in Valdiva helped Elder Blotter celebrate his 20th birthday. He also sent some pictures of the Valdiva riverfront. It looks very wintry there, which it is right now since they are opposite of us in seasons.

Elder Blotter - June 6th

Hola Familia,
I don´t have a lot of time but I will write a short note.  Nice to hear that the weather is great for y'all. Wish I could get a little of that nice hot weather, its pretty chilly here but its all good.  When it doesn't rain or when it rains like a drizzle it's actually pretty warm and calm. But it rained really hard for like 3 days this past week which wasn´t the coolest.
My week here in Chile has been good!We have a lot of Investigators but again none of them came to church!! GAhh!! I guess that just mean me and my companion aren´t doing something right in our teachings. Church this week was really great. We had a very good testimony meeting. It was very very spiritual. An older gentlemen and his wife went up and bore their testimonies. The spirit just filled the room when he bore his testimony. A lot of little kids gave their testimonies along with a mom and dad and their little daughter all bore their testimonies because they went to the temple this past week to be sealed together as a family.  It was so amazing to hear that experience  they had because the mom is pregnant and the baby will be born into the covenant now! It's always a good day to listen to the members of our ward they are really good people and have really strong testimonies. Not a lot of crazy stuff happened this week just moving a lot in the work. Its great to hear when people accept baptismal dates and understand the gospel and how its necessary but sometimes it only hits their hearts not their spirit totally so we just gotta work towards that.
I´ve put in pictures of Valdivia and a photo of me and the Familia Barrias they surprised me on my birthday with a cake it was way good!!!
I love you all and miss you very much!!
